Tumbling

Tumbling (ages 3-7)

Tumbling is a 45 minute long class, and it meets once a week. This class will consist of a thorough warm-up, and then progress into floor tumbling. It will start with coordination exercises, followed by forward and backward rolls and cartwheels, and will advance to back bends, limbers, walkovers, and back handsprings. Flexibility tricks such as baskets and chin stands will also be studied.

Tumbling (7+)

Tumbling is an hour long class, and it meets once a week. This class will consist of a thorough warm-up, and then progress into floor tumbling. It will start with cartwheels and will advance to back bends, limbers, walkovers, back handsprings, and aerials. Balancing tricks such as chin stands and headstands will also be studied. Dancers enrolled in Tumbling who also take Ballet and Jazz have the option of performing an Acro dance in the recital.

Acro

Acro is an hour and 15 minute long class, and it meets once a week. Acro class will consist of a thorough warm-up, and then progress into floor tumbling. Students will need to have mastered all of their basic tumbling skills to be placed into Acro. The focus of Acro will be on improving technique and mastering advanced tumbling skills such as back handsprings, press handstands, side and front aerials, back tucks, gainer aerials, and other challenging variations of basic skills. Balancing tricks such as chin stands, headstands, elbow stands, and handstands will also be studied. Dancers enrolled in Acro who also take Ballet and Jazz have the option of performing an Acro dance in the recital.

Acro Dance

Dancers enrolled in Tumbling 7+ or Acro, who also take Ballet and Jazz, have the option of performing an Acro dance in the recital.
